His family say the 60-year-old was on a motorcycle trip and was last heard from about 200 kilometres south of Acapulco.

He was supposed to arrive in Puerto Vallarta 12 days ago.

His family says they only know of one friend that Riddiough visits in Puerto Vallarta.

Riddiough’s family says he is normally in touch every day and so this is very out of character for him.

They also say his cell provider says his phone has been off the past two weeks while there has been no activity in his bank account.

The Canadian embassy in Mexico has been contacted.

Riddiough was on a 2008 Honda Varadero motorbike with Alberta plate number ERG41.

Riddiough’s family says they we’re hoping for the best but also preparing for the worst.

Riddiough is 6 foot 2″ tall, he has grey hair and has tattoos on his left arm including a Canadian flag and eagle.

He has a problem with his white blood cells and is on medication.
