Louis and Henry did their part Sunday to help fellow pups find furever homes.
The pair of pooches belonging to Calgary Flames winger Brian McGrattan and his wife Michelle were among the dogs on hand at the second annual Flames Furbabies event benefitting the Alberta Animal Rescue Crews Society (AARCS) on Sunday.
“We’re big dog lovers,” said McGrattan of the fundraiser that he and Michelle started.
The event, designed to raise both money and awareness for the rescue group, gave people the chance to meet Calgary Flames players and their fur babies.
“(AARCS) gets a lot of dogs week in and week out,” said McGrattan. “They need a lot of money for food, vet services and shelter. Anything we can do to help out is a win-win.”
McGrattan hoped the event would generate about $5,000 for the organization.
