Power mostly restored in southern Alberta after snowstorm cuts electricity

Crews are still working to restore electricity to about 250 homes in southern Alberta after the weekend snowfall cut power in some areas outside Calgary.

At one point 4,000 people were without power in and around communities such as Cochrane, High River, Claresholm, Taber and Vauxhall.

Fortis Alberta was able to restore electricity to the majority of homes by Sunday night.

The houses still without power are mainly in the area around Fort Macleod and Nanton.

The power company says it has brought in extra crews to help with repairs.
