Nova Scotia, Alberta sign apprenticeship deal

CHARLOTTETOWN – Alberta and Nova Scotia want to give apprentices a chance to work in either province without having to take new exams to become certified.

The two provinces have signed an agreement in principle to recognize the work experience hours of apprentices.

The deal saves apprentices from writing additional exams or repeating courses to get their certification.

The two provinces say they are also working to make it less expensive for apprentices to move between Nova Scotia and Alberta to continue their education.
