More than 600 crashes on Alberta roads over 3 days: RCMP

RCMP in Alberta have responded to more than 600 collisions over the last three days, during the first major snowstorm to hit the province.

Fifty of those collisions caused injuries ranging from minor to severe to either the driver or passengers.

Police say wind, snow and black ice were contributing factors in the crashes and are reminding motorists to drive safely on Alberta highways this weekend.

“If you don’t have to travel, stay at home and enjoy the time with your family,” said RCMP Corporal John Spaans.
