Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team seize 24 flashlight/stun guns

ALERT has seized 24 stun guns.

Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers at the International Mail Centre in Vancouver recently intercepted four packages of stun guns; the package originated in Singapore and was destined for an address in Alberta.

The CBSA then referred the file to the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team.

A 31-year-old man was arrested at his Edmonton home Dec. 2. A small marijuana grow operation was dismantled at the time.

The stun guns were designed to look like flashlights but with a flick of the switch were capable of delivering a high-voltage electrical shock.

Jason Kruse is facing multiple charges, including 24 counts of importing a prohibited device; 25 counts of possession of an offensive weapon; and 25 counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.
