Three days, dozens of stories shared on the air and the province’s sick kids have almost $2 million more in funding support.
The Country 105 Caring for Kids Radiothon pulled in $1.94 million from the pockets of generous Albertans as they heard more than 70 families speak frankly of the dramatic impact the Alberta Children’s Hospital has had on them.
Hospital president and CEO Saifa Koonar said this is what the community has always done to support them.
“How incredible it is to see our supporters — our friends, families and neighbours — wrap their arms around this hospital, even in an uncertain economic time for so many. It’s truly heartwarming and we are so grateful,” she said.
Over its 12 years, the Country 105 Caring for Kids Radiothon has raised more than $19 million.
